Stuffed Meatloaf

This is a deceptively easy meatloaf that is tasty, healthy AND both the husband and the kids eat.

  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup steak sauce sauce
  • 1/4 ketchup
  • 3/4 cup fresh crumbled bread
  • 1/4 cup 2% shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 slices ham
  • 3 slices cheese (swiss, cheddar...)
  • Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    2. In a large bowl, combine everything but ham and cheese slices. Mix well and form into an 8x10 inch rectangle. (I do this on a cookie sheet for easier cleanup)
    3. Place the ham over the rectangle mixture, and then the cheese over the ham. Roll up jelly-roll style so that you end up with a rolled loaf about 5x8 inches.
    4. Place roll seam side down into a 5x9 inch loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes. Drain excess fat.
